Program Manager

Location: Boulder, CO

Overview

As part of an accomplished team of experts, you will lead a space flight aerospace program to help achieve all strategic, contractual, and technical achievements over the lifecycle of the program.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and execution of space flight related aerospace hardware contracts.

  • Responsible for overall program leadership, direction, and guidance that ensures successful program execution in accordance with budget, schedule, contract, resourcing planning, and technical specifications.

  • Develop metrics and data reports to monitor program process and performance.

  • Review and evaluate the program status on a continuing basis and work unplanned program issues to the best solution, including the development of plans-forward, escalation and increased resources.

  • Collaborate with the program customer and main representative on all program matters.

  • Identify and ensure required compliance of policies/procedures with all partners. Assess risk and develop mitigation plans as needed.

  • Manage budgets and implementation of capital equipment and facility projects.

  • Employ proactive risk & opportunity management processes and practices to mitigate or capture the potential program issues and improvements.

  • Employ Earned Value (EV) and Earned Value Management (EVM) processes and practices including variance reporting as required by contractual specifications.

  • Identify and lead change proposal efforts for the program including pre-coordination with customers to establish expectations.

  • Lead and mentor program staff.

 

Requirements

  • Due to ITAR requirements, only US citizens and permanent residents may apply.

  • Travel to other locations and local commute may be required.

  • Required to align with the campus COVID-19 vaccine requirement. New employees must provide proof of vaccination or receive a medical or religious exemption within 30 days of employment.

 

Experience and Specific Skills

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of engineering, business, or science.

  • 2 - 10 years of related experience in the aerospace industry.

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. may substitute for part of relevant experience level.

  • Leadership and management experience in the development of space flight hardware.

  • Experience with subcontract management and supplier oversight and direction.

  • 8+ years’ experience in systems engineering

  • BS/MS in a technical field or equivalent experience
