OPPORTUNITY: Earned Value Management Consultant


TPM is currently seeking Earned Value Management Consultant to work onsite or remotely.

Location: Columbia, MD or potential for remote.

The successful candidate will provide timely and reliable cost, schedule, and technical performance measurements to program managers in accordance with the established Earned Value management Software.

Job Requirements:

This individual will work closely with program managers to provide guidance on the determining earned value variances for cost control, resource management, and scheduling.

Responsible for maintaining project baseline integrity, providing comprehensive variance analysis to appropriate levels of management and ensuring managers are made aware of actual or potential problems; Duties may include budget forecasting, variance identification and schedule analysis to advise team/on cost, schedule, budget, and calculated EVM metrics Impacts to project milestones, budget cycles and reporting on dependencies and opportunities for efficiencies are based on metrics, calculations, and resources.

  • Provide project controls oversight of project deliverables in efforts that include planning, analysis, design, development, test and transition of systems, standards, compliance, and improvement support for systems in development

  • Track project milestones by monitoring schedule and evaluating task progress and recommending controls to ensure alignment with project plan        

  • Analyze integrated master schedules and identifying and evaluating risk analysis

  • Work closely with integrated Project and Systems Engineering team to communicate status, and proper reporting of issues, resolution strategies and escalation as needed

  • Ensure rapid execution and on-time, high quality delivery of complex Project Management documents, reports and other project deliverables

  • Facilitate and participate in gate reviews to meet systems lifecycle requirements

  • Work closely with program stakeholders and document operational needs, functional requirements, and change requests

  • Assist in development and implementation of change control activities for validation of changes to existing requirements

  • Facilitate requirements capturing, tracking and analysis, elaborating work tasks, identifying milestones and work task relationships, in addition to status and progress reporting

  • Identify, evaluate and track risks as well as provide risk mitigation and contingency plans


Earned Value Management:

  • Utilize Earned Value Management principles and formulas to track project cost, schedule, and scope as defined in the project baseline.

  • Perform earned value analysis, provide oversight, participate in Integrated Baseline Review (IBR) activities, perform schedule analysis

  • Assess EVM reports provided by development contractor for accuracy and provide guidance and feedback as needed

  • Comprehensive knowledge of EVM industry standards and practices

  • Knowledge and application of various EVM techniques, such as Milestone analysis, LOE analysis.


Preferred Experience:

PMP Certification desired

Experience with PMBOK
